With over 83,000 holiday lights, 77 trees, and 25 wreaths in the 2022 holiday display, there’s no place like the White House for Christmas.
While Washington DC is full of elegant, historic hallowed halls (check out the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court for stunning, hidden GEM Christmas trees!), none quite stack up to the people’s house during the holiday season!
With a different festive theme each year, “We the People” (the first line of the United States Constitution) seemed particularly heartfelt for 2022, reminding me of our shared values as Americans when it feels like a pivotal moment in time for unity and cherishing your community.
One of the things I loved most about this year was the paws-itively adorable nods to the “first pets,” Commander and Willow. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did (and maybe even get some decorating ideas)!
And don’t forget- there are so many festive Christmas and holiday things to do in Washington DC. From the US Botanic Garden holiday display to the National Christmas Tree lighting, several ice skating rinks, Georgetown Glow, the downtown holiday market and much more, there’s something for everyone!
